The University of the Fraser Valley
As part of my role at Industry Services at the University of the Fraser Valley, I am responsible for developing marketing materials to promote our courses. Recently, I updated Industry Services' list of offerings and incorporated all of the University of the Fraser Valley's brand colors in the advertising. By doing so, I aimed to communicate UFV's values of inclusivity and community, demonstrating that Industry Services courses are open to learners from all backgrounds and abilities. The updated list of offerings has been is up for display in WorkBC Chilliwack and Abbotsford, it has also been posted at the Office of the Registrar on both campuses.
I wanted to highlight the importance of creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, so I chose circles as the shape for the promotional materials for Industry Services at the University of the Fraser Valley. By using circles, I aimed to convey a sense of safety and inclusivity to potential learners, making it clear that all are welcome to engage with our educational offerings and that UFV is a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. The advertisement is 17 inches x 11 inches.
To promote our courses, I have created physical postcards that have been developed over time in line with UFV's brand guidelines. These postcards have been updated to reflect new initiatives, such as employer-sponsored courses, and have been sent directly to local businesses with clientele or employees who could benefit from our offerings.
The postcards measure 8 inches x 5 inches.
What’s Going On
Many UFV Trades students were unaware that the Faculty of Applied and Technical Studies had a social media presence. In an effort to increase engagement and awareness, I created a social media campaign called "What's Going On" to showcase student life at UFV Trades. The The posters are displayed all over campus and in classrooms, workshops and the main office. The campaign includes photos and videos of students in action, as well as highlights of events and achievements.
Many other faculties around UFV have taken notice of the success of the "What's Going On" campaign and have begun implementing similar initiatives.

Trade School Showdown
As the person in charge of UFV Trades Social Media, I have achieved notable success in growing the following and increasing engagement while creating a more unified brand for the Faculty of Applied and Technical Studies. One of my initiatives was leading a social media campaign named "The Trade School Showdown" for the Student Enrollment Committee. Each class was tasked to create a video showcasing their trade, which was then posted and open for likes for a week. The class with the most likes won a food prize. I designed 3 different potential images for the Student Enrollment Committee to vote on to which one will represent the campaign.
As part of the "Trade School Showdown" social media campaign, students were given complete creative control over their videos, allowing them to showcase their skills and trades in a unique and personalized way.
This 11 x1 7 inch poster was the final design displayed around campus to promote the event.
Here are the classes that submitted videos.
River’s Bistro
The Culinary department approached me to help promote the reopening of River's Bistro as part of their Professional Cook program. We collaborated with the Chilliwack Cultural Centre to support them with their reopening efforts following Covid-19. Inspired by the Centre's showing of "Juliet, a Revenge Comedy," the bistro was themed around Verona. I assisted the chefs in creating menu graphics that reflected the bistro's theme “Of Verona, there menus and food are how they best interpretated the theme. My marketing efforts generated excitement and attendance, resulting in busy days each week the bistro was open. The reopening of the bistro was featured on the UFV blog with the graphics I designed.
